Australian Clinical Psychology Association 

The Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) is a non-profit organisation formed to represent the professional interests of Australian clinical psychologists with post-graduate qualifications accredited by the body appointed under the current Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act and approved by the Professional Standards and Membership Committee of ACPA. The intent of ACPA is to promote the highest standards within the profession, and to inform the public and other health professionals of the expertise and ethical and professional practice and expertise of its members.

Australian Psychological Society

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) provides members of the community with information about the codes of professional practice and ethical guidelines that psychologists are bounded by.

Autism Spectrum Australia 

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is a not-for-profit organization committed to helping people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Aspect has an autism advisor program which assists families and carers of children (0-6 years) with an Autism Spectrum Disorder by linking them to the early intervention service provider panel and providing advice and information about community services. Aspect advisors can also provide parents with information about funding for children under 6. Aspect offers a free Autism Information Line for people with an ASD and their families. The Aspect Autism Information Line is staffed by professionals who can provide information about a range of services and resources.

Beyond Blue 

Beyond Blue is a national, independent, not-for-profit organization working to increase awareness and reduce stigma associated with depression and anxiety in Australia. The Beyond Blue website offers helpful information about (and treatment options) for anxiety and depression.

Black Dog Institute 

The Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in depression and bipolar disorder. The Black Dog website has a number of helpful fact sheets on mood disorders and provides links to appropriate services and support groups.

Butterfly Foundation 

The Butterfly Foundation is a community-based charitable organization that supports eating disorder sufferers and their carers. The Butterfly Foundation website has helpful information about eating disorders and provides links to treatment services and support groups.

Centre for Eating and Dieting Disorders 

The NSW centre for Eating and Dieting Disorders (CEDD) is an academic and service support centre based in Sydney. The CEDD aims to promote awareness of eating disorders and their website provides information about eating disorder services in NSW.

Centre for Clinical Interventions 

The Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) is a specialist state-wide program administered through North Metropolitan Health Services in Western Australia. The CCI has developed a number of resources for consumers, mental health practitioners, and general practitioners, most of which are available on their website.

Chronic Pain Australia 

Chronic Pain Australia is a community advocacy and support organization committed to helping people live with Chronic Pain. The Chronic Pain Australia website offers information and resources for people with chronic pain, their carers, and health professionals. Chronic Pain Australia also offers a free telephone support line.

Kids Helpline 

The Kids Helpline is a 24 hour counseling service for young people aged between 5 and 25 years. Counseling is offered by phone, email, and over the web for issues ranging from relationship breakdowns and bullying, to sexual abuse and suicidal thoughts. Kids Helpline counselors are fully qualified professionals who undergo additional accredited training at Kids Helpline.

Lifeline 

Lifeline is a not-for-profit organization offering a 24-hour counseling service. Lifeline is staffed by trained volunteer telephone counselors who are able to provide emotional support to people in crisis or people needing support.

MoodGYM

MoodGym is an interactive web program designed to prevent depression in young people. MoodGYM teaches the principles of cognitive-behavioural therapy and provides young people with strategies for managing common stressors. MoodGYM is intended for information and skill development purposes only and is not a substitute for treatment from a qualified health professional.

Raising Children Network 

The Raising Children Network website provides helpful information for Australian parents. The Raising Children website offers up-to-date research-based information about common difficulties in children (e.g. autism, ADHD, etc), as well as detailed information about development, behaviour, health, nutrition and fitness, play and learning, connecting and communicating, sleep, and safety. It covers newborns, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children.

Reach Out 

Reach out is an interactive website for adolescents. It provides adolescents with information about common mental health problems, strategies for managing a range of psychological difficulties, and advice on how to connect with services and other adolescents experiencing similar problems.
